In addition to white walls, homes with dark or style-specific wall colors, like dark brown and terracotta, didn’t seem to be well received in this study. Dark brown in both the bedroom and bathroom decreased the home’s value by a few hundred dollars. Homes with terracotta living rooms sold for almost $800 less than expected.
